Nicole Dabbs - Dec. 2012OXFORD, Miss. Nicole Dabbs, a University of Mississippi doctoral student in Health and Kinesiology, has been named the School of Applied Sciences Student of the Month for December 2012.

Dabbs, who is on track to graduate next year, is developing a dissertation project to examine the effect of whole-body vibration on muscle recovery. She is already actively engaged in research, with an impressive publication record that includes eight peer-reviewed articles in the field of kinesiology.

She currently serves as the Student Director of the Applied Biomechanics Laboratory in the Department of Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management. Dabbs is a member of several national professional associations and is a founding board member for the University of Mississippi student chapter of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Dabbs earned both an undergraduate and a master’s degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton.
